Uk Shelter Takes Legal Action To Get Adopted Puppy Back After Owner Was Caught Trying To Resell At A Markup

An animal shelter in Westminster UK is seeking the return of a French bulldog that was adopted for $500 but then put online for sale at $1,450.

The dogs name "Pine Green" was seized from a suspected breeder in November along with 78 other dogs.

When the shelter found out he had showed up on Craigslist for the large markup they decide to get legal help to get the frenchie back.

The people at WAGS shelter just want to make sure the pups go to homes  with people who would love them and care for them like any good dog deserves. Despite the prices the shelter was charging for special adoption fees of $500 for adults and $800 for puppies, the shelter received nearly 4,000 applications for the 78 dogs, and why wouldn’t they?

Usually the French and English bulldog breeds go for thousands of dollars on the open market.

WAGS issued this statement on their Facebook page "No attempt was made to us to return the dog if it wasn’t working out! This is a despicable act and the entire WAGS team is just disgusted … .” The Craigslist ad, which the shelter managed to get removed, asked $1,450 for the dog, which was described as “cute, kid-friendly (and) social.”
Apparently there are still 6 English and French bulldogs that are still available for adoption.

You can learn more about the puppies and WAGS here checking out their photos on WAGS Facebook page or you can email cortney@wagspetadoption.org to request an application.

It makes me wonder though how often this happens. Not just with bulldogs but with all animals.
