Bulldog Breeds

Most people have heard of French, English, or American bulldogs but have you ever heard of a Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog? You might be surprised just how many types of breeds there really are.

1.French
The French Bulldog is a small breed of domestic dog. "Frenchies" were the result in the 1800s of a cross between bulldog ancestors imported from England and local ratters in Paris. Their usual lifespan is between 10-12 years. Of all the bulldog breeds this is the smallest

2.American
The American Bulldog is a breed of working dog. The names associated with the Bully and Standard types are those of the breeders who were influential in developing them, John D. Johnson and Alan Scott. They usually live 10-15 years and are one of the largest breeds of bulldogs.

3.British
The Bulldog is a medium-sized breed of dog commonly referred to as the English Bulldog or British Bulldog. Other Bulldog breeds include the American Bulldog, Old English Bulldog, Leavitt Bulldog, Olde English Bulldogge, and the French Bulldog. They usually live 8-10 years and are medium sized

4.English

5.Blue French

6.Olde English Bulldog

7.Victorian

8.Miniature English

9.Black English

10.Alapaha Blue Blood

11.Bulldog Terrier

12.White English

13.Australian Bulldog

14.Olde Boston Bulldog- Boston Terriers were originally bred from Boston bulldogs. They look the same but are a little larger.

15.Valley Bulldog

In addition there are also crossbreeds between the breeds listed above!! It can be a grey area in terms what is considered a breed and what isn't. Usually people use use organizations like the AKC list to determine what is a breed and what isn't but I know a lot of people that disagree with their list.
