French bulldog hitches a 30 KILOMETRE train ride - before being reunited with her family

An adventurous French bulldog has accidentally wandered onto a train and travelled 30 kilometres away from home. The 18-month-old pup named Bonnie is normally 'pretty lazy and sleeps a lot' but decided on a whim to slip underneath the back fence of her Salisbury house in Queensland, Nine News reports.

After realising she was free, Bonnie proceeded to walk the 700 metres to the local train station before hitching a ride to Beenleigh some 40 minutes away. She ended up on the Beenleigh to Brisbane City line because of an animal-loving train guard by the name of Chloe Johnson, who saw the pooch alone and decided to take her on the trip. Mid-way through the lengthy trek and Miss Johnson started to wander who Bonnie belonged to.
