On April 17,2015 Bonsai was born in Arkansas USA. Unfortunately for him he was born with several congenital defects. His spine was deformed and his hind legs were not fully developed. As a result they had to amputate his hind legs. e was also diagnosed with Swimmer’s Syndrome which means his chest is too flat and his legs are sprawled out to the sides.

His owner was quick to call a local pet rescue home called"Friends of Emma" in Fort Worth Texas. Since the operation last June he has no control over his bowel movement which means he has to wear a diaper all the time. His caregivers to affectionately nickname him "half the bulldog with twice the love."

 Since then he has amassed an Instagram following of over 2,000 and 29,000 Facebook friends! Fundraising and public contributions to Bonsai are helping to cover his medical bills and provide everyday necessities. If you are interested you can donate here.
