Maybe the owner needs to make a little stepladder for the pup.

The Great Escape Artist: Meet the French Bulldog Who Masters the Art of Cage Breakouts

French Bulldogs, with their charming bat-like ears and expressive eyes, have a reputation for being affectionate and friendly companions. However, beneath their cute exterior lies a surprising talent that some of these dogs possess: the art of escaping a dog cage. We'll introduce you to one such clever French Bulldog who has earned a reputation as a Houdini of the canine world.

Meet Max, a four-year-old French Bulldog who resides with his devoted owner, Sarah. Max's ability to escape from seemingly secure dog cages has baffled and entertained those who know him. While Sarah loves her furry friend dearly, she can't help but admire Max's incredible talent for breaking free.

The Great Escape Artist

Max's escapades began as a puppy when Sarah purchased a sturdy and well-constructed dog fence to keep him safe and secure while she was at work. Initially, it seemed foolproof. But Max had other plans. Within a few weeks, Sarah was astounded to find her mischievous Frenchie wandering freely around the house, on the other side of the fence.

Puzzled but impressed by her pup's skills, Sarah decided to observe Max's escape attempts more closely. She realized that Max wasn't using brute force or strength to break out. Instead, he displayed remarkable problem-solving abilities. Max would analyze the fence, fiddle with the latch, try to climb th3 fence and patiently work on it until it eventually gave way.

Sarah's Quest to Secure Max

Determined to outsmart her furry escape artist, Sarah embarked on a mission to find a dog fence that could truly contain Max's cleverness. She consulted with experts, read countless reviews, and even sought advice from professional dog trainers. Yet, each fence she bought was met with the same outcome: Max would escape with ease.

The Bond Between Owner and Frenchie

Despite the challenges Max presented, Sarah's love for him only deepened. She recognized that Max's escapades weren't driven by a desire to be disobedient or mischievous, but rather by his incredible intelligence and curiosity. In many ways, Max's escape attempts were a testament to the strong bond he shared with Sarah.

Max and Sarah began spending more time together, engaging in stimulating activities and puzzle toys to channel his intellect in a positive direction. This not only enriched Max's life but also strengthened their bond. Max's need for mental stimulation, it seemed, was as strong as his urge to escape.

The Famous French Bulldog

Max's reputation as the "Famous French Bulldog Escape Artist" started to spread beyond Sarah's immediate circle. Social media platforms became a showcase for Max's incredible feats. Sarah began sharing videos of his escape attempts, and Max quickly garnered a following of fans who eagerly awaited updates on his adventures.

As Max's videos online became viral . People from all over the world sent messages of admiration and intrigue, often sharing their own stories of clever dogs and their escapades. Max had almost become a symbol of determination, and intelligence.

So, the next time you encounter a mischievous French Bulldog or any clever canine, remember Max's story and appreciate the unique talents and quirks that make them extraordinary members of our families.

She's a great jailbreaker, but not such a great friend, leaving her companion behind.

French Bulldog Puppy Dies After Contracting Lungworm- What You Can Do To Avoid This

There have been 16 reported cases of the parasite in Gloucestershire.

A tragic incident involving a French bulldog puppy recently unfolded in Rugby, where a routine operation led to complications and ultimately claimed the pup's life due to the presence of the deadly lungworm parasite. The family, who cherished their puppy named Minnie, was having her spayed when she began experiencing uncontrolled bleeding following the procedure. Lungworm can disrupt blood clotting, despite the veterinary team's best efforts to save Minnie, she tragically succumbed to the condition.

This insidious parasite resides concealed within the heart and lungs, often exhibiting no initial symptoms, making its detection quite challenging. Sian Reekie, Minnie's owner, expressed her shock, saying, "I had never heard of lungworm before Minnie's tragedy. We now understand it's often referred to as a silent killer, and this description couldn't be more accurate. Prior to her operation, Minnie was perfectly healthy and her usual playful self, little did we know that lungworm was silently deteriorating her from within."

Here are some important facts about lungworm:

1. How it's Contracted: Lungworm larvae are carried by slugs and snails, and dogs can become infected when they accidentally or intentionally ingest these creatures. This can occur while dogs explore fields, grassy areas, puddles, outdoor water bowls, or even when they ingest slime from these creatures.

2.The Act Against Lungworm Campaign: An organization is working diligently to raise awareness about the importance of preventing lungworm infections in pets, emphasizing how simple it is to protect them.

3.Diverse Worming Treatments: Not all worming treatments are effective against lungworm, and some may not provide any protection at all. Lungworm prevention should be administered monthly, as treating every three months can pose risks of disease and even death. It's crucial to consult your veterinarian to establish a monthly parasite prevention plan that ensures your dog is fully shielded from lungworm.

Evidence from the Royal Veterinary College indicates that lungworm has expanded its presence in the UK beyond its typical habitat in the South of the country. Consequently, veterinarians across the nation are urging pet owners to adopt a monthly preventive regimen to safeguard their beloved animals from this parasite.

Sian added, "We are utterly devastated by Minnie's loss. We were not prepared for the tragedy that befell Minnie, and we hope that sharing her story will help raise awareness about this parasite. Dog owners must engage with their veterinarians to learn how to prevent it."

Why (DAP)Dog appeasing pheromone's really work even during holidays with your inlaws!!

Dog appeasing pheromone (DAP  for short) uses a synthetic dog appeasing pheromones to calm dogs. The effectiveness of DAP has been demonstrated in 18 studies published in scientific journals and at veterinary conferences around the world and has been used by dog behaviourists, veterinary experts and welfare charities for more than 10 years!

This calming effect in DAP collars is useful for dogs or puppies that:
  • have anxiety either from separation, during travel
  • can stop or reduce inappropriate barking, biting or marking
  • are on drugs and can be used as an alternative with no side effects
  • help puppies settle in a new home
  • significant positive effects on puppy socialization
  • help dogs cope in kennels
  • during re-homing
  • holidays with your inlaws!! (my favorite!!)

Supposedly it works by using their natural physiology to induce a calming effect and has no known long-term side effects. The collar relies on a dog’s pituitary response to the pheromone. Because of this the impact of the collar on a dog’s behavior will be different from dog to dog.

DAP Collars is generally safe for all dogs, with the exception of dogs who suffer from excessive skin lesions or open wounds that could be further irritated by the collar. Some dogs like people suffer from allergies so when trying the collar watch closely the first day or 2 to make sure there is no irritation where the collar touches. Make sure the collar is not excessively tight.

Alternatives to the DAP Collar

Beside the collar there is also a DAP diffuser option that works like any perfume diffuser you would normally use.

This is not the only way of course and there are other methods of controlling your dog’s behavior and de-stressing them.

Supplements, treats, and therapeutic remedies incorporate elements like chamomile to effectively soothe dogs. Several of these remedies, like Tranquil Tabs and Bonies Calming Formula, exclusively rely on natural ingredients.

In more challenging cases of behavioral issues in pets, alternative solutions like prescription medications are also valid choices. Some experts even suggest the use of antidepressants, such as Prozac, for your pet. Many of these medications have received FDA approval for use in pets or have been specially reformulated to suit their needs.

Hilarious Ad Featuring British Bulldog Promotes A Global Wine Brand

(VIDEO BELOW)
Tussock Jumper (A global wine brand) is adding a little English fizz to the mix, with a label featuring a bulldog in a red sweater.

The brand sources wine from around the world, signifying the country of origin with the emblematic animal of each nation, always in a red jumper.

With a sheep for New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and a bull for Spanish Tempranillo, co-founder of the brand, Gert-Jan van Arkel, told db at an event last week that he would like to add an English sparkling to the range – and has chosen a British bulldog to represent the wine.

He has even commissioned an amusing mini-video in partnership with Amazon as part of a digital campaign to promote the wine – which can be viewed here – although he has yet to go ahead with the product, or find a partner to provide the fizz.

Tussock Jumper was founded in 2009 and today sells as many as three million bottles per year worldwide with 21 wines in the range, all of which are bottled at source. The brand has, however, yet to penetrate the UK market, but it is thought that the addition of an English fizz might be one route to bring the label to British consumers.

At the moment, the only sparkling wine in the line-up is a Prosecco, featuring a fox in a red woollen jumper on the label. As previously reported by the drinks business, Tussock Jumper has brought ‘wine to life’ with an augmented reality (AR) app, allowing any consumer armed with a smartphone to activate the animals that feature on each of the 21 different wines in the Tussock Jumper range

Just DESPICABLE' Tragedy as 'skeleton' bulldog left to die under a bush

Blidworth, Nottinghamshire

An emaciated one year old bulldog was found under a bush in the countryside by a passerby. They then called the RSPCA and stayed with the bulldog until they arrived.

The puppy was so emaciated it could barely stand and his face was covered with mange

Unfortunately they were too late and they had to put the poor bulldog to sleep to end his suffering.

RSPCA Inspector David McAdam expressed that the bulldog was enduring some of the most severe health issues he had ever encountered.

As the charity unveiled a set of images captured shortly before the dog was euthanized, the inspector detailed the dog's appalling state of health.

"This was a despicable act,” said Inspector McAdam. “The poor dog was left in the middle of nowhere in such a state and was totally helpless and defenceless.
“His condition was nothing short of appalling and the vet said he had been in a suffering state for at least two months.

“He was unable to stand up he was so weak. He had a chronic skin condition and was severely underweight, had cherry eyes - where the eyelid swells up - and a prolapsed penis caused by infection.

“It is so upsetting to think of the pain he must have endured during those months which was completely unnecessary."

There are never excuses for abandoning an animal, says the RSPCA. Its experts are always available to provide help and adviice.

"I am just grateful that a kind member of the public found the dog and showed him some compassion in his last hours,” added Inspector McAdam.

The animal welfare charity is appealing for information about the dog who was found in Ricket Lane, Blidworth, on September 30 at around 3.30pm. Anyone with information should contact the charity’s appeal line on 0300 123 8018.

A Deaf Bulldog Who Was Shot And Maced Somehow Escaped Home

The owners of a deaf Bulldog who was shot and maced over  the weekend are looking for the culprit.

Over the weekend Caesar the bulldog mix and his dog companion Rhea escaped from their owners home in Martinsville, Indiana

When they returned 12 hours later, Caesar had been pepper sprayed in the face with eyes burning and had been shot in his side. The bullet had punctured his lung but luckily missed his heart.Veterinarians had to leave the high-caliber bullet in instead of doing risky surgery.

When he returned home his owners his owners washed him as best they could but the mace was burning their eyes as well, before rushing him to the vet.

Caesar's owners told the news channel that there have been other incidents of pets coming back poisoned or hurt in their Martinsville neighborhood.

They want Caesar’s story to be a reminder to pet owners to keep a close watch on their fur babies.

Top 5 Best Dog Foods For English Bulldogs

After trying out close to a dozen different brands of dog food over the years its safe to say that I would recommend these top 5 kinds

1.Taste of the Wild Grain Free High Protein Dry Dog Food
2.High Prairie Adult
3.Natural Ultramix
4.Wellness CORE Natural Grain Free Dry Dog Food,
5.Earthborn Holistic Great Plains Feast Grain Free Dry Dog Food
6.Nulo Grain Free Dog Food: All Natural Adult Dry Pet Food for Large and Small Breed Dogs

Due to overbreeding, bulldogs can suffer from serious health problems. Proper nutrition can go a long way in ensuring longevity and good health in your bulldog.

We all know different dogs have different needs. So what should you look at in evaluating different food types?

1.Different breeds have different genetic dispositions
English bulldogs are prone to weight gain more than other breeds so it would make sense to reduce fat intake.  Great Danes should have food with lower fat and protein content because they are at risk over becoming overgrown and damaging their skeleton.

2.evaluate the quality of the ingredients in your dog’s food
- no fillers like  wheat corn or soy
- no subpar meat products, such as road kill or expired dog meat.
- avoid preservatives and artificial flavors and colors.

3.Dog specific health issues
If your dog is having issues right now with something then you may want to add additional vitamins like glucosamine, as they are prone to joint problems.

4. Allergies seasonal or ongoing
- bulldogs are also prone to both seasonal and food-based allergies. If this is the case for your pet, select food free of common dog allergens, like wheat and chicken.soy

5. Adjust for age
My vet Dr. Scheider says older bulldogs should be fed around 900 calories a day, in 2 or 3 small meals. This will help them prevent the health problems associated with obesity, as well as help them avoid weight related hip dysplasia. You should also supplement glucosamine and chondroitin.

Bulldogs according to my vet should have between 10-20% fat, be fed 2-3 times a day

Some of the most common health issues for Bulldogs that can be treated with proper nutrition

  • Hip Dysplasia: Bulldogs are prone to hip dysplasia, a joint malformation which is very painful for dogs. To help your bulldog avoid hip dysplasia, make sure to feed him an appropriate diet to avoid him carrying around excess weight. Also, if you have a puppy, limit his fat and protein intake to help him grow more slowly and allow his skeleton to catch up to the rest of his body. In addition, either ensure your pup’s food contains glucosamine and chondroitin or supplement his diet with it.
  • Allergies: Like many other bulldogs, English bulldogs are prone to allergies. Medication can be prescribed to treat seasonal allergies. If you have an allergenic dog, you should avoid wheat, soy, and corn products and, if that doesn’t solve it, you should put your dog on a food that contains no chicken or egg proteins.
  • Sensitive Stomachs and FLATULENCE: Every English bulldog owner knows that English bulldogs are tooty little fellows. To avoid stomach issues and excess gas, avoid wheat, soy and corn products, as well as artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives. Feeding them more frequent, smaller meals can also help reduce gas.
So now you get the picture of what was considered before choosing these brands. Here are my top 5 picks and why

A Lawsuit Caused By A Man's Bulldog Cost Him $437,000

A Staten Island woman has just won her lawsuit for $437,500 due to a fractured hip caused by she a friend's bulldog jumped onto her and knocked her down.

A court decision in Staten Island, New York this month just cost a man $437,000 due to his pet bulldog. YIKES!!!

A friend had came to visit of him (Patricia Indellicati, 48) in his home back on July 18, 2016. When she walked into the kitchen of Michael Fichera, his American bulldog  "Luke" came running from the porch to greet them and enthusiastically jumped onto Patricia causing her to be knocked over

Unfortunately Luke was a larger 95lb dog.

Indellicati has to be transported via ambulance to the Staten Island University Hospital, where doctors operated on her fractured right hip, said her court filings.

Indellicati had to undergo another hip surgery on Dec. 1, 2016.

She sued Fichera in state Supreme Court, St. George.

437,000$ is a huge sum of money! When you add up pricey medical costs, legal costs and missed work costs it escalates quickly! In the U.S. any pet that you own is your responsibility and considered your property. I'm not sure how Michael Fichera could have paid this amount. Likely remortgage his property? Use retirement savings?  All because of one small accident.
Anyone can avoid having to pay costly lawsuits if they have pet insurance. It also covers you from expensive unexpected veterinarian costs. Being a Bulldog owner myself I'm fully aware of the many health challenges Bulldogs face. I use Pet Premium insurance.

Trip Planning Tips For A Trip With Or Without Your Bully

With a few wonderful weeks left in summer, you might have a trip or two planned. You may even venture out on a spontaneous getaway. Whatever's in your travel plans, here's what to bring along if your dog is traveling with you, and what you'll need to do if you're leaving him in someone else's care.

Crate and blanket
If you're traveling by plane, your dog will need to ride in his crate the entire flight. It's also a good idea to crate him during long road trips. Make sure your dog has been well-exercised so he's more likely to rest while you travel. Remove any loose items that could harm your dog, and provide a familiar blanket to help him feel at ease.

Travel bowls for
food and water
Collapsible or foldable food and water bowls make travel so much easier. They're lightweight and compact enough to store away, but expand to hold food and water to keep your precious pup nourished and hydrated wherever you go. Carry a bottle of water to quickly fill your dog's water bowl when needed.

Dog food and prescriptions
Of course, you'll need plenty of food to keep your canine content. Bring enough of your dog's regular food to cover the length of your trip, plus a few extra meals in case of travel delays. Also pack a full supply of any medications your vet has prescribed for your dog.

Treats, toys and chews
New sights and sounds are exciting, but can also be stressful for your furry friend. A few familiar toys will help keep him occupied. Chew toys are great to help your dog work out some anxiety, and special treats can create a positive association with your temporary new surroundings.

Leash, collar and ID
On vacation, your dog still benefits from regular walks on a leash. And he should always wear a collar with an ID tag showing your current telephone number. Carry a current photo of your dog just in case he gets separated from you and you need help finding him.

When its a humans only getaway

Detailed instructions
Whether you're using a kennel or a dog-sitter, leave instructions about feeding, medications, usual exercise routines and anything else that can help your time away go smoothly for your dog and his caregiver.

Plenty of the essentials
Make sure you have a good supply of your dog's regular food, so your sitter doesn't have to make a run to the store and risk picking up the wrong kind. Place any prescription medicines for your dog in a secure place your sitter can get to.

Your dog's favorite things
Toys, chews, blankets, treats! Keep your dog's environment as familiar as possible by leaving lots of the things he loves accessible to him. You could also leave behind an item your dog can snuggle with, like a blanket or shirt that has your scent on it.

Can You Eliminate Farting In Your Dog?

I hate to break it to you but cannot eliminate farting in Bulldogs unfortunately. Like us its natural and needs to happen. If you stopped it completely they just might explode! Bulldogs especially seem seem to have a genetic predisposition to farting.

There are ways you can improve the situation leaving 2 solutions.

1) Find ways to reduce the gas through diet. Making the diet is higher quality and ensuring that you are not feeding your pet anything that they are allergic to. Check out this article for more information on that

2)Make sure your dog doesn't have any of these health conditions
-Inflammatory Bowel Disease
-tumors
-Irritable Bowel Syndrome
-pancreatic disease
-gastrointestinal disease
-parasites
-bacteria infection

We all know how boring it can be waiting for your friend to go into a store for something while you wait outside. Now imagine you don’t even have your cell phone on you. Now imagine you’ve never had a cell phone and you’re an adorable French Bulldog. Do you think you could wait as patiently as this very good boy? Not a chance.

On Wednesday, a woman named Jasmine who goes by “FullMakeup Alchemist” on Twitter (and truly her makeup skills do seem to be on point) went to the cafe located inside the building where she works as a payroll analyst for Coupons.com. Unfortunately, she couldn’t take her buddy Max in with her, because while dogs are welcome in the building, they aren’t allowed in the cafeteria.

“He’s my coworker’s pup,” Jasmine told the Daily Dot via email. “I’m lucky to see Max almost every day in the office. All pups brought into work have to be well trained and know they aren’t allowed in the cafeteria, so he’s just a very well trained boy!”

So Max sat outside waiting patiently for Jasmine to return. It’s obvious from his pictures that he trusts his good pal and knew she wouldn’t leave him alone for very long.
The company was so delighted with Max’s behavior they even gave him a promotion to “Chief Dog Officer”.

After the Instagram post fans of Max like Merikk were saying
"he can read AND respects the rules! legendary, honestly. but they should make an exception for him tbh"

Obviously, this picture of this very good doggo being so very good gave Twitter all the feels.

For those of you who you feel sorry for poor little Max, don’t worry. Jasmine says his owner was right outside the frame of the picture, and he later got “all the treats.”

Oh what’s that? Do you need more pictures of that adorable face in your life? Of course you do. Good news, Max has his own Instagram account you can check out right now, you know, in case you don’t have the patience of a certain well-trained dog.

12 Things You Do Secretly With Your Bulldog

We all act a little different when non one is around. We let loose at little. Here is a list of 12 things I think we do secretly with our bulldogs!

1.Given them a long speech before leaving the house

3. Used your dog's armpits as handwarmers.

4. Winked back at them when they wink at you because it makes you feel like you're both in on something.

5. Used the front camera on your phone to show them what they look like.

8. Taken it personally when your dog sits next to someone other than you.

9. Imagined what your dog's human voice would sound like.

10. Petted them with your feet more than you do with your hands.
